Thanks to fleet tracking systems, information like whether the engine is turned off or on and whether the vehicle doors are properly closed or not is easily accessible. Fleet tracking systems are broadly of two types, namely passive and active.
The main drawback with passive tracking is that you need to wait until the vehicles return back. Only after the vehicles return to the base, the device can be removed and then the data can be downloaded onto the computer for the same to be analysed.
On the other hand, in the case of an active fleet tracking system, you can access the information regarding the vehicle movement and safety in real time. This is done by the help of satellite or cellular networks, thus making it much faster and easier to spot any sort of unexpected changes or movements.
Irrespective of this differentiation, the use of both passive and active tracking systems is very beneficial to the fleet managers of the company for tracking the vehicles and the employees to ensure maximum security and efficiency.
